National Dog Day, celebrated annually on 26th August, is observed to honour dogs of all breeds, promote adoption, and raise awareness about their welfare. Created to encourage rescuing dogs from shelters rather than buying from stores, it also recognizes the vital role working, service, and companion dogs play in human lives.
