RESILLIENT, SECURE AND INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNING DESIGN
The new Data Centre is at the heart of the Ashton Old Baths redevelopment. The TIER 3 facility has been designed and built with resilience and security at the fore.
As well as hosting Council and NHS systems commercial rack space is also available with a range of rack sizes from a quarter to full height to meet requirements of all sizes of operation.
The new data centre sits at the heart of the Tameside Digital Infrastructure which is a widespread and pervasive dark fibre network covering the 9 towns of Tameside with diverse dark fibre connectivity to the Northern Peering point in Manchester and in Leeds.
Commercial access to the Data Centre and dark fibre network is managed through the Cooperative Network Infrastructure (CNI)
ARCHITECTURE AWARD WINNER 2021
The Ashton Old Baths Data Centre was successful in receiving a global award during the 2021 DCD Global Data Centre Awards.
The facility was awarded the “Data Centre Architecture Award” for 2021 which saw strong competition from countries across the world.
It is a fitting tribute to the successful partnership involving MCAU (Architects), Sudlows (Designed, built and operator), Tameside Council, Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport (Local Full Fibre team) Oxford Innovations and CNI Coop.
